2010 The Scooter

2010 The Scooter

Merlot (South Australia)

WA: 90 pts

'...pronounced notes of warm plums, blackberry preserves, coconut and baking spices plus a whiff of toasty cedar. Ripe, concentrated and voluptuous in the mouth, it offers tons of vanilla and spice flavors, a medium level of velvety tannins, medium-high acid and a long finish...' - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, www.erobertparker.com

Wine Advocate
‘Matured in 82% American oak and 18% French, 33% new, the 2009 The Scooter Merlot has a deep garnet-purple color and pronounced warm plum, clove and cinnamon aromas. The ultra full-bodied palate is a very rich, dense powerhouse with a medium level of ripe velvety tannins, crisp acid and a long spice-cake finish...’ – 90 points, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, www.erobertparker.com

Wine Spectator
‘This broad red brims with dark berry, iodine and pepper flavors, lingering softly against modest tannins. Drink now through 2013.' – Harvey Steiman, www.winespectator.com

Nick’s Wine Merchants
‘Opaque black crimson colour with deep black crimson hue showing good glass cling. The nose displays very good lift with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, dark plum and dark chocolate followed by some spicy end notes. The palate delivers incredible weight, richness and concentration for a Merlot. Opulently textured with flavours of super ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and black cherry followed dark chocolate and spice. Long aftertaste of black cherry, ripe blackcurrant and spice.’ – 95 points, Nicks Wine Merchants, www.nicks.com.au
